Join me from June 1st through to October 26th in a daily practice to bring back the light.

Join in just to light up your life and nurture yourself, or take it a step further along with me… I’ll be practising every day through June 1st to 26th October to raise awareness and funds for Australia for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.

Ways to join in…

– Join our Everyday Hero team, and practise meditation or Sun Salutes with us (you’ll get to choose a practice that suits you) & ask your friends and community to donate & cheer you on. Click here to join our team.

– Make an easy quick donation at

– Just do the practices; you’re welcome to take them & share them for free. When you light yourself up with health and well-being, you bring light into your corner of the world & to the people around you. Even a simple 5 minute meditation like this one can make a big difference.

Here and on my Facebook Page I’ll be sharing Bring Back the Light practices anyone can do, including Sun Salutes, (including Chair Salutes and wrist or knee-friendly Sun Salutes), meditations and guided relaxations…practices that honour the light in all of us, and that keep us mentally & physically healthy and lit up! You choose your practices along the way, and I’ll offer PDF charts, recordings, tips and encouragement as we practice together.

My hope is that this project will offer a light hearted and nurturing way of bringing light into a world that often seems dark and filled with heartbreak & destruction. It can get you down, but we can still keep working and living for light, hope and peace. And we serve best when we’re well. Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time: the need for man to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to oppression and violence. Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love. – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

If you’d love to join in but have a different charity in mind, drop me a line because I may be able to help you set up your own fundraising team that you can link to ours. I’d welcome suggestions relating to humanitarian, environmental or wildlife/animal charities, or renewable energy. Below are some resources to get you started. Next Special Local Event: Sun Salute Workshop

Sun Salutes make great winter Yoga routines to do at home as they’re warming, they get us moving and breathing, and you can adapt one to suit you that’s easy to remember and includes your favourite poses.
As they involve a lot of repetition though, it’s a good idea to make sure your alignment in each pose and transition is healthy. Join us for a fun workshop to explore Sun Salutes on Wednesday 19th July 6:30pm, Huon Eldercare, Franklin. No need to book but please bring your own mat and a firm blanket.

Pay what you can afford or make a small donation to the Bring Back the Light Project raising funds for Australia for UNCHR.

Huge thanks to Huon Eldercare for the donation of the venue for this event!
